Dr. Mohammed Khaleel is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in ultra-minimally invasive and complex spinal procedures at Apex Orthopedics. He is known for pioneering cutting-edge surgical techniques and using the latest technology—including spinal navigation and endoscopic methods—to treat a wide range of spinal conditions.
Dr. Khaleel completed his fellowship in orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a traveling spine fellowship in the UK. Prior to private practice, he served as Director of Orthopedic Spine Surgery and Spinal Trauma at Parkland Memorial Hospital and held a faculty role as Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Education & Training
A native of Texas and valedictorian of his high school class, Dr. Khaleel entered the Leadership in Medicine Program at Union College/Albany Medical College, earning a combined MD and Master's in Health Administration. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency and general surgery internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, training at top hospitals including Parkland and Texas Scottish Rite.
Academic Contributions
Dr. Khaleel has contributed to numerous publications, educational materials, and global surgical training programs. He regularly lectures nationally and internationally, sharing his expertise with surgeons around the world. He is a member of leading professional organizations such as AAOS, NASS, TMA, and AMA.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys time with his wife—an anesthesiologist—and their children.
