About Dr. Johnson
Meet Dr. Douglass Johnson
Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon | Cervical, Lumbar and Complex Spinal Deformity Care
Dr. Douglass Johnson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with Texas Spine Consultants, where he sees patients in Addison and Plano, and he cares for patients at Methodist Hospital for Surgery. His work centers on helping people living with neck and back pain find relief and get back to the activities that matter most to them.
A North Carolina native, Dr. Johnson was drawn to medicine early through a love of science and the chance to shadow surgeons in his community. He started college studying economics, but soon realized that his true calling was a career devoted to improving patients' quality of life.
A Patient-First Approach:
Listening is at the heart of Dr. Johnson's care. He believes successful treatment begins with understanding how symptoms affect each patient's daily life. Because he offers both non-surgical and surgical treatment, he can work with each patient to build a personalized plan that fits their goals and lifestyle.
