Dr. Garner Newton is board certified in Orthopedic surgery and has the distinction of being subspecialty board certified in sports medicine both by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Garner Newton is recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas,” awarded by D Magazine and is the chairman of the Orthopedic department of Texas Health Presbyterian of Dallas.

Dr. Newton is committed to personalized patient care. He specializes in the treatment of sports related injuries and subspecializes in shoulder and knee surgery. He has extensive training and experience in minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgical techniques. Currently, he serves as the head Orthopedic surgeon for Southern Methodist University Health Center, the team physician for the Episcopal School of Dallas, and the team physician for the Highland Park High School tennis team.

Dr. Newton has also had the privilege of providing medical treatment for many professional teams. He was the head Orthopedic surgeon for the Dallas Burn MLS, assistant Orthopedic surgeon for the Dallas Mavericks NBA, and resident Orthopedic surgeon for the San Francisco 49ers NFL. He most recently served as the 2011 Super Bowl Orthopedic surgeon for players’ friends and family.
